World Breastfeeding Week is an annual celebration which runs from the 1st – 7th of August. Events are held worldwide within organisations and participants to promote awareness of Breastfeeding.
The World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) was formed on 14 February, 1991. WABA is a global network of organizations and individuals who believe breastfeeding is the right of all children and mothers and who dedicate themselves to protect, promote and support this right. WABA acts on the Innocenti Declaration and works in close liaison with UNICEF.
The World breastfeeding weeks 25th year in 2017 is about working together for the common good.
#WBW2017 want to forge new partnerships with celebrants, advocates, activists and creative people. We want to attract as much attention as possible to share our stories, thoughts on breastfeeding and make more young women aware of the facts.
You can make a difference in your area by simply posting a photo of you breastfeeding on Instagram, sharing a status on Facebook or telling your story on snap chat. Social media is the easiest way of communicating so why not use this platform to normalize breastfeeding and build confidence around young women and other breastfeeding mothers. Please use #babyboobieblogger in your photos , I would love to see them and do not forget #Worldbreastfeedingweek.

Breastfeeding isn’t just about milk its also about love. We love our children and this is why so many women don`t give up breastfeeding when it gets tough. There is a sense of accomplishment when reaching a certain stage. The bond you form with your baby is so beautiful and you get a feel for his or he needs through nourishment. It is a growing attachment that will continue to play an important role in your baby’s development in years to come. Â Its empowering as a new mother to watch your baby grow and to thrive on your breast milk. All of this said there are so many benefits for mam and baby which you can find on my blog.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this piece and if you enjoyed it please leave a comment and subscribe to my blog for more updates and information.
